The B&B Hotel Baden-Airpark is situated in front of the passenger terminal. It is equipped with 85 comfortable rooms (air conditioning, phone and TV with PREMIERE programmes). A Wireless LAN access is available in the reception area and in all rooms free of charge.

Airport visitor terrace

The Airport Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden offers two visitor's terraces:
One visitor's terrace is located at the former departure terminal (today APCOA); on terrace is located in direct northern neighbourhood to the modern passenger terminal. Both terraces can be used free of charge.

 

Animal transports

First of all please inquire the airline whether it permits animal transports. The airline Ryanair in principle does not carry animals. In addition the respective entry regulations at the destination are of particular importance.

Dogs and cats up to five kilograms and/or depending upon regulations of the airline also up to six kilograms weight may only be taken on board as hand baggage in a special bag or cardboard box. Heavier animals must fly along in a special transport box as belly freight in the cargo section. This transport box can be bought in different sizes at the airport or in the pet shop.

Animals may cost 20 to 40 euro per flight depending on the size / weight and the airline. Some airlines also account for kilos.

Important: Before the flight you should go with your animal to the veterinary surgeon. The animals passport and for flights outside Germany a chip with all relevant data is obligatory.

 

Assistance for the disabled

Important note:
The passenger is a customer of the airline or the tour operator. He has to request all necessary assistance for his disability already at the booking.

At Airport Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden (FKB) disabled passengers can resort to the following facilities:

Disabled passengers

The Baden-Airpark is wheelchair friendly. Wheel chairs are available at the airport information. Please directly contact the staff at the check-in counters if the information desk is not manned. Motionally impaired passengers may use additional assistance during boarding. If assistance is needed, please make a reservation with your airline or travel agency at the time of booking. Every functional unit of the passenger terminal is equipped with toilets for disabled passengers.

Aurally handicapped passengers
The terminal of the airport Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden is equipped with an inductive audio facility.

Visually handicapped and blind passengers
To simplify the orientation, the way from the main entrances of the terminal to the airport information counter is marked with a white shading on the floor. This shading can easily be found with white cane. Guide dogs are allowed in the terminal.

The rights of disabled passengers are discribed in the
European Community regulation 1107/2006 from July 5th 2006.

 

Baggage-trolleys

Baggage-trolleys are at your disposal free of charge against 1 € pledge.
You will find the baggage-trolleys on the car parks, in front of the passenger terminal and inside the passenger terminal (bistro area).

 

Boarding kennels at the airport

The boarding kennels at Victoria Boulevard, building B 124 in direct neighbourhood to the passenger terminal offers seven heatable and dog equitable equipped rooms as well as over 600 square metres of open spaces. The animals are professionally taken care of round-the-clock.

Bulky luggage

First step: Go to the check in of your flight.
Second step: Announce your bulky luggage at the check in.
Third step: Take your bulky luggage and go to the bulky luggage check in (counter 1)

 

Cashpoints

A cashpoint is placed in the public area of the terminal. To change money in foreign currency is not possible.

 

Check-In

At the check-in counter you present your flight-ticket, passport / identification card and baggage. You will receive:
  • your boarding card with the seat number and
  • your ticket with the respective baggage claim tags
Please consider the time you will need for check-in, as well as the security control and keep your ticket, boarding card and passport/ identity card ready.

Customs

After receiving your baggage you will pass through customs control.

Important information

Please take into consideration the valid entry and inoculation regulations of your destination. Your travel agency or your doctor will give you the respective information. Please check if your travel dosuments such as passport, visa identification card, ticket, currency etc. are complete and valid. In case of loss, copies of the travel dosuments inside your baggage and at home may be useful.

 

Lost & Found

The Lost & Found office in the safety area of the passenger terminal is opened during flight arrivals. If you have lost / found a baggage or other objects please directly contact the airport staff. This is also necessary in cases of damage.

Luggage allowances


20 kg free allowances are included in the ticket price, any excess of baggage must be charged extra. Only a small piece of personal hand luggage is allowed to be taken into the cabin.

Bulky baggage e.g. surfboards, buggies, bikes and so on need to be declared to your travel agent at the time of booking.

Important note:
At Airport Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Ryanair passengers can pay additional services (e. g. priority boarding or excess baggage) by credit card. Cash payments are not possible!

Generally:
Hazardous goods like explosives, gas tanks and flammable materials, solid or liquid, arms and munition are prohibited due to security reasons. The use of certain electronic equipment on board the aircraft is not allowed. Here you will find some further information.

For further information please read the ticket regulations or ask your airline / travel agent.

Furthermore, all your baggage should be locked and provided with an adress-label.

European Community regulation 261/2004 from February 11th 2004.

 

Postbox

A postbox is situated in front of the passenger terminal. Take the terminal exit at the check in area, cross the road and the short time parking zone P 16.

 

Security Checks

Before entering the security area with your boarding card, you will go through security control. Here, all hand baggage will be x-rayed, camera films will not be damaged.

Persons with a cardiac pacemaker or sensitive medicines should inform the security personnel before entering the security check.

You will pass the control faster by putting your jacket and all metallic objects into the container provided.

 

Smoking

Smoking inside the terminal is only allowed in special smoking areas.

 

Telephone

The terminal is equipped with pay telephones and card telephones.

 

Visas

Before starting your journey we recommend you to verify if a visa is needed / valid for your destination. Information is available at your travel agency, airline, embassy of the respective country or directly by the Federal Foreign Office.
